This skills-based training course is part of a larger diploma course named Humanitarian Programme Manager (HPM): you will thus be joining a group of trainees attending this entire diploma course. If you are interested in this diploma but unable to attend this several-week-long training programme, please note that we offer the possibility to attend its 5 other modules at your own pace.
By attending this skills-based training course, you will know:
- How to enable participants to choose and apply appropriate tools to manage themselves, other people, and organisations involved in humanitarian programmes.
- How to define and implement safety & security measures adapted to a specific context.
- How to mitigate the risk and enable the programme implementation in a volatile context.
Is this training for me?
Persons already working or willing to work as a manager in the humanitarian sector.
mandatory previous experience in project or programme management. Level B2 minimum in English (according to European language levels - Self Assessment Grid).
Week 1: Managing People: Introduction to management + recruitment process + annual appraisal interview + organisation charts + conflict management and negociation
Week 2: Strengthening organisational capacity: developing strategy + applying strategic thinking to team performance + developing effective and healthy teams + leading change
Week 3: Managing team safety and security: Introduction to safety & security + context and risk analysis & Safety and security management, planning and implementation: Introduction to stress management + accident & incident management
